VaasaETT data and analysis in the International Energy Agency report

Another major organisation, the International Energy Agency, has included our data in their electricity market analysis. Our own Data Science Lead and Head of Greek office, Rafaila Grigoriou, acted as a reviewer for their most recent publication.

IEA’s biannual report is discussing recent developments in the energy markets worldwide and providing interesting forecasts for global electricity demand, supply and global emissions through 2023.

In the part of the report focusing on Europe, VaasaETT contributed a year-on-year residential electricity prices comparison for selected capitals based on our Household Energy Price Index analysis.

We also provided insight on the impact of mitigation measures on residential electricity prices in European capitals during the energy crisis. Our analysis showed that government interventions prevented a further 20% rise of average household electricity prices in May 2022, while prices would have been over 50% higher that month in absence of subsidies and price caps.
