The report analyses electricity bills in France, Germany, Spain, and Poland, assessing their effect on both residential and industrial consumers. It reveals that regulated charges and taxes are excessively high. For instance, electricity charges in Europe are nearly 15 times higher for households and four times higher for industries than in China.
It further explores the structural factors driving up electricity costs and hindering electrification, highlighting key challenges such as regulatory imbalances, hidden fees, and the uneven distribution of energy-related costs. These insights offer a clearer understanding of the reforms needed to support a more competitive and resilient energy system for Europe.
